Highs -n- Lows Living with the Disease

Tuesday, August 6th

Another beautiful sunny morning!  Birds are chirping this morning :-)

Yesterday Kaylee and I went to visit Grandma Gloria.  Grandma was having a great day.  When we were leaving she came to the locked door and tried to leave with us. Then she wanted Kaylee and I to come back in to give her another hug.  After we were able to finally go Grandma stood by the window and waved until we left.  It made me feel so sad...

She acted like her old self, before dementia...she told me she was lonely for me.  I've been trying to get over once a week, twice a week if there's a Dr appointment. I reminded her that she has the lifeline bracelet on her arm and if she needs anything...to push the button...she is not alone...it is there for her to get help if she needs it...not sure if she will remember.
Grandma Faye came over to Grandma Glorias to visit and she showed Gloria her lifeline bracelet. They are exactly the same...I think it made Grandma Gloria feel better. :-)

I was very sore and tired by the time I got home yesterday...I changed into my comfortable clothes and put my feet up. :-)

Miraculous You Meditation

Today we will consider the one thing that is required for any relationship to flourish:  knowing who we really are. While there is a natural tendency to find an identity in our roles in life, our personality, our work, our body, our culture, our stories of the past, and our dreams for the future, in reality, these are all temporary, external aspects of ourselves. Who we really are is eternal and unbounded. Our true self is pure love and pure spirit.

While our ego-mind may feel isolated and separate, our essential nature is whole and inextricably connected to the universe. Therefore, our journey towards miraculous relationships isn’t about searching for anything outside of ourselves. It’s about discovering the love that is already within us, and expressing it in all of our relationships.

Our centering thought for today is:

I am a radiant spiritual being.

MINDFUL MOMENT

Schedule several “soul breaks” for yourself today. Start these breaks by taking a deep breath. Feel your body and notice any tension you are holding. Take another deep breath and as you exhale, let it all go. Take a moment to reflect on the tone of your recent inner dialogue, the quality of your interactions with others, and the emotions you have been experiencing along the way. Just observe what is. This exercise can be done in one or two minutes and is one way to strengthen your alignment with your true self, or soul. Your true self is infinite love and always feels safe and connected. Taking “soul breaks” each day naturally shifts your awareness of your divine, radiant nature

Today's Bible Study

Prevailing Faith

Read | Romans 4:18-25

Continuing yesterday’s study of faith that conquers, let’s look at other elements of this type of godly trust.

• Confession of Faith. David declared, “I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts” (1 Sam. 17:45) and stated his trust in God’s deliverance. Whenever we face difficulties, we, too, must proclaim our faith, expressing thanks to the Lord for who He is, who we are in Christ, and what we have through His Spirit.

• Reliance on the Lord’s power. Not once did David claim he was going to defeat the enemy. Instead, he pointed out that the battle was the Lord’s; it was by the power of the Almighty that victory would be gained. In the hand of God’s servant, a simple stone was mightier than the weapons of the Philistine army.

• Assumption of Victory. Prevailing faith reckons the victory before the battle even begins. When the young shepherd looked at Goliath, he saw him as a dead man. In fact, because of David’s relationship with the Lord, he understood that all giants— whether bears, lions, or Goliaths—were the same.

How does this reckoning take place? First, we fight the “battle before the battle.” Through prayer and meditation on Scripture, we work through any uncertainties and fears. We reaffirm in our heart that this is the Lord’s battle, declare He has won the victory, and wait for His timing. When we act, we do it God’s way, with trust in His presence and provision.

For what area of your life do you need prevailing faith? Approach the throne of grace with faith to receive what you need (Heb. 4:16).

Another great day!
