Highs -n- Lows Living with the Disease

Another Beautiful Morning!
Today I am running to Faribault to meet up with my family...we are running down to Iowa to have a picnic with other family and to visit the graves sites.  We were unable to go last weekend because of other obligations...

I had a couple of times this last week were I was short of breath again.  I continue to experience changes in my hands and bruising on my body.
I was carrying Gracie yesterday and when I changed into my sleepwear I found several bruises on my arm again.

I am also experiencing the sharp shooting pains in my groin area and on my right side...so painful.  I know the Dr told me that this may continue for moths or years but I'm ready to get rid of it... :-). The post shingles is just as bad as the shingles...

I am so thankful for all I can do...

The Most Important Thing
By Charles Stanley
Read | Luke 11:1-4

Many of us have redesigned prayer to fit in with the busyness of our lives and to make us more comfortable. We have organized it to suit ourselves and in the process, we've forgotten what the heart of prayer really is—our relationship with the Lord.

Prayer is to be a time of separation from the world in order to be with God. It occurs when we surrender our schedules, our priorities, and ourselves to the joy of drawing near to our Father in heaven. It’s a time to experience His love and express ours to Him; to remember that life is centered on Jesus and that our priority is to obey Him. It’s where our souls are nourished and we gain strength to continue.

For us as children of the King, prayer is the means by which we communicate with Him about needs, work, desires, and even our mistakes. It is also one of the primary ways for us to receive His responses. Most importantly, it’s a time to bask in the presence of God our Father and Jesus our Savior—and to be guided by the Holy Spirit in heavenly conversation.

The value of prayer is seen in the life of Jesus. He often withdrew from the crowds and even from His own disciples in order to spend significant time with His Father. What value do you place on praying? Whom or what do you seek through your prayers? How often do you enter the throne room just to spend time with your Father? Commit to seeking a prayer life like the Savior's—with God Himself as your focus and top priority.

When You Feel Buried - Joel & Victoria Osteen

When You Feel Buried
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.”
(John 12:24, NKJV)

We all face difficulties and challenges in life. But you have to remember, as a believer in Jesus, you have the life-giving seed of Almighty God on the inside of you. When you go through disappointments or tough times, you may feel like you’ve been buried. You may feel like you’re in a dark, lonely place. You may feel like it’s the end; but in reality, it’s only the beginning. The fact is, you haven’t been buried; you have been planted. That means you’re coming back. And not only are you coming back, but you’re coming back in increase, better and stronger than before!

In those tough times, you’ve got to draw the line in the sand. Make a declaration, “This difficulty is not going to bury me. This loss, this disappointment, this injustice is not going to cause me to give up on my dreams. I refuse to live in self-pity. I know I am a seed. That means I cannot be buried. I can only be planted. I may be down, but it’s only temporary. I know I’m not only coming back, I’m coming back even better than I was before!”

Father in heaven, thank You for filling me with Your life-giving seed. I choose today to focus on the potential for my future. I know that I will overcome every obstacle by Your power that is at work in me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Another Beautiful Morning!
Yesterday, I went over to Faribault for a care conference for my mom.  She is progressing in her Alzheimers.  After the care conference I went to Rochester for the database class at Globe college for work.
I was listening to a christian speaker while driving...the speaker was telling his story of healing.  A Baptist pastor was preaching and having trouble speaking because of a horse throat.  He had swelling causing his throat to almost close completely.  He went to the Dr several times but the pressure on his throat continued to affect his speaking for over three years so he step down as senior pastor because he couldn't preach.

His previous church asked him to come back to speak about healing in their bible study class.  As he struggled to speak on the subject,  saying God does not heal all people of all things...He at times uses our curramstances as a tool to show others that His grace is sufficient enough to carry on.

The bible class records their study each week...
As he struggled to teach something started to happen to his voice.  He started to feel the release of that pressure from his throat and his voice started to come back.  He broke down in tears because he realized God was healing him after three years of struggling with this...
God uses our curramstances to teach others and to bring us closer to Him.  He wants us to trust that in the midst of our situation God works all things out for our good...Trust Him...

I am so thankful for all I can do...

Financial Wisdom: How to Spend
By Charles Stanley
Read | Philippians 4:11-19

God entrusts each believer with a share of His resources. And like any wise overseer, He gives His stewards guidelines for how best to use His wealth:

• The Essential Expense. A believer's wisest money management decision is to set aside the first portion of income for the church. As we promote and provide for God's work in this way, He protects what is left (Deut. 26:2; Mal. 3:10-11).

• The Next Priority. God promised to supply for our needs (Phil. 4:19). We get necessities like food, clothing, shelter, transportation, and schooling mainly by paying for them with what He provides.

• Pursuit of Godly Goals. Next, we're to use money to meet the Lord's goals for us and our family. He may lead us to invest in education, start a business, or purchase a particular item—whatever it may be, instead of "floating" through life, believers should seek and pursue God's will.

• A High Calling. Giving to the needy is an investment in God's kingdom. While we should not promote laziness, a gracious act to a poor man "lends to the Lord and He will repay . . ." (Prov. 19:17).

• Uses for What's Left. Last on the list is fulfillment of desires. Believers who delight in the Lord also obey Him. He then blesses them with good things that fit His will for their lives (Ps. 37:4).

Good stewards manage the Father's resources by asking Him, "What is Your will for the wealth that You have given me?" You'll be amazed at how fulfilling it is to live according to biblical principles. Even a little money seems like more than enough when you spend it as the Lord intends.

Handling Adversity - Joel & Victoria Osteen

Handling Adversity
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.”
(Romans 5:3–4, NLT)

The way you handle adversities has a huge impact on your success in life? If you shrink back, choose to get bitter and lose your enthusiasm, then you are allowing the difficulties of life to bury you. You are allowing hardship to keep you from your God-given destiny. But if you choose to keep pressing forward with a smile on your face, rejoicing even in the hard times, you are allowing God’s character to be developed inside of you. You are setting yourself up for promotion.

Think about this: the only difference between a piece of black coal and a priceless diamond is the amount of pressure that it’s endured. When you stand strong in the midst of the trials and difficulties in life, when you allow God to shape and mold your character, it’s like going from a piece of coal to a priceless diamond. Those difficulties are going to give way to new growth, new potential, new talent, new friendships, new opportunities, new vision. You’re going to see your life blossom in ways that you’ve never even dreamed!

Father in heaven, thank You for giving me strength to overcome every obstacle in life. I choose to rejoice no matter what may come against me. I know You are working all things together for my good in Jesus’ name! Amen.

The Grace of Giving
By Charles Stanley
Read | 2 Corinthians 8:1-7

Today we live under a new covenant established by God through the shed blood of His Son (Heb. 9:15). Based on what Christ did, Romans 12:1 tells us to present ourselves as “a living and holy sacrifice, [which is] acceptable” to the Lord. If you are a child of God, all of your abilities, time, and money belong to Him.

The principle of sacrificial living can be seen in the early church. Those new believers eagerly sold their possessions and property to meet needs around them (Acts 2:45). God blessed them for their generosity—they experienced glad hearts, favor with others, and growing numbers.

Macedonian churches also understood the priority of giving. Even though the believers there were extremely poor, they begged for the opportunity to help financially. Second Corinthians 8:7 says they excelled at the “grace of giving” (NIV).

Under Old Testament law, God required a tithe (a tenth of one’s crops and animals) to support the temple (Lev. 27:30-32). When the nation drifted away from this practice, the Lord sent Malachi to warn them of the consequences for disobeying. By holding onto their tithe, they were robbing God of what was rightfully His (Mal. 3:8). We certainly don’t want to be guilty of withholding the Lord’s money from Him.

Having appointed us as His stewards and entrusted us with resources, God expects us to give generously. When the impoverished widow put two coins into the temple treasury, Jesus praised her sacrificial giving (Mark 12:41-44). If we trust God with our finances as the widow did, we will excel at the grace of giving.

Don't Let Others Control You - Joel & Victoria Osteen

Don’t Let Others Control You
“It is an honor for a man to cease from strife and keep aloof from it, but every fool will quarrel.”
(Proverbs 20:3, AMP)

Did you know that when you allow someone else’s words or actions to upset you, you’re allowing them to control you? When you say, “You make me so mad,” you’re really just admitting that their actions have power over you. As long as that person knows they can push your buttons, as long as you keep responding the same way, you are giving them exactly what they want. Sure, people have a right to say and do things that are upsetting, but we also have a right to not get offended. We have a right to overlook their actions. In fact, the Bible says that it’s an honor for a man to keep “aloof” from strife. In other words, we have to remove ourselves, either physically or emotionally, from strife and offense. It’s not easy, but we can choose to let it roll off of us like water off a duck’s back!

Remember, you don’t need everyone to agree with you all the time. You don’t have to have the approval of others in order to be approved by God. Your job is to be the person God made you to be. Overlook offenses and let go of strife so you can live in peace and victory all the days of your life!

Father, thank You for loving, accepting and approving me just as I am. I know You are doing a work in my life, and I ask for the strength and confidence to overlook offense so that I can honor You in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Another Beautiful Morning!
Life, time and how we invest it is very important...
I was listening to a Christian speaker talking about a friend with cancer.  This person said when he woke up each morning and thank God for another day because his life was charged by his circumstances.

I appreciate my time and know all of my life curramstances have
brought me to where I am today.  Many times I have questioned God will in my current situation but because of Lupus and DM I have learned to appreciate everything in my life...
When you lose something...that is when you realize how important it really was and you learn not to take anything for granted.
Today, I chose to use my days to glorify God...to show gratitude for the many gifts He has given me.  Which are so many...I have been blessed in so many ways...

I hope I never harm anyone or treat possession better than my family or friends.  My family and friends are the most important gifts in my life and I am so thankful for each one of them...

How to Walk Wisely
By Charles Stanley
Read | Proverbs 28:26

According to 2 Corinthians 5:7, believers are to walk by faith. However, with so many voices clamoring for us to follow worldly paths, we often struggle to hear and apply God's wisdom. For example, it is hard to ignore our natural impulse to withhold mercy, even though the Lord says we must forgive (Eph. 4:32).

Godly wisdom is the capacity to view things as the Lord does and to respond according to biblical principles. This discernment isn't automatic. Yes, God's Holy Spirit lives inside believers to prompt them to do right. However, each individual chooses whether or not to pursue the wise way.

To walk wisely, a person must commit to remaining on the right path—that is, to determine in his or her heart, I will follow God no matter what. Pleasing the Lord and conforming to His likeness are always the right things to do.

Resolving to honor God transforms the way we make decisions. It means choosing to seek His viewpoint in a given situation instead of following instincts or impulses. And rather than relying on other people's advice, it involves a decision to search Scripture for verification of what God seems to be saying. As a result, the Spirit's quiet voice becomes easier to discern, and those worldly shouts fade.

You have a loving heavenly Father who honors the heartfelt commitment to walk according to His will. God assumes responsibility for offering His children sought-after wisdom and enabling them to keep walking on the right path (Prov. 3:5-6). Following Him is always the best decision.

Good Sense - Joel & Victoria Osteen

Good Sense
“Good sense makes a man restrain his anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression or an offense.”
(Proverbs 19:11, AMP)

Every day, we have opportunities to get upset, frustrated or offended. Maybe you had plans that didn’t work out, or someone was rude to you at the office. Maybe you were doing something that should have taken one hour and ended up taking three. Life is full of inconveniences. Even though we can’t always control our circumstances, we can control our reaction. They say, “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond.”

We should always go out each day with a positive attitude, full of hope and expecting God’s favor. But at the same time, we should recognize that most days are not going to go exactly as we planned. However, we are created to live in peace. Peace is our position of power. If you get stressed because you got off schedule, or upset because your child wouldn’t eat his breakfast, or frustrated because somebody offended you, you are giving away your power. Instead, use good sense! Make the decision to release those offenses and disappointments so you live in peace. Overlook offense, release offense and move forward in the power and victory the Lord has for you!

Father, today I release every care, concern, offense and disappointment to You. I choose to keep the peace that You have given me knowing that with You, my best days are ahead in Jesus’ name! Amen.

The Way to Handle Negative Relationships

By Charles Stanley
Read | 1 Corinthians 15:33-34

In an ideal environment, all our relationships would draw us closer to the Lord. However, we live in a fallen world with sinful people, so that is not our reality. God wants us to influence those who aren't walking obediently with Him, but unless we're careful, we could easily end up following them. How are we to deal with relationships that drag us down instead of building us up?

Prayer. Your first step is to pray for the people who tend to pull you away from God. It's not your job to change them, but you can ask the Lord to work in their lives. And don't forget to ask Him to give you the wisdom and patience you need in your interactions with them.

Separation. You may have to break off a relationship if it's hindering your Christian walk. However, this should be done only after much prayer and wise counsel. Remember, some relationships are meant to be permanent, so listen carefully to what God is telling you.

Perseverance. If the negative relationship never changes and the Lord is not calling you to break off association with that person, then He wants you to persevere in the situation. In that case, your goal is to walk faithfully with your heavenly Father despite any hindrances or opposition.

If you deal with negative relationships, you should also cultivate friendships with godly people who can help you grow in your faith. Spend time in God's Word, filling your mind with truths that anchor your soul in stormy situations. Persevere in walking faithfully with Christ—you may even influence the other person.

Scatter Your Enemies - Joel & Victoria Osteen

Scatter Your Enemies
“Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered...”
(Psalm 68:1, NKJV)

What are you letting arise in your life? In other words, what are you focusing your words, energy and thoughts on? You might say, “Oh, it’s just so hard right now. My finances are tight.” “My health doesn’t look good.” “Somebody walked out on me.” No, you’re focusing on the wrong things. You’re letting defeat, discouragement and self-pity rise up. Why don’t you turn that around and say, “God is still in control. Somebody may have walked out on me, but I know God is going to bring me somebody better.” “I may be hurting right now, but I know God is the restorer of my soul.” “I may have an unexpected debt, but I know God is my provider. He is supplying all of my needs. He is fighting my battles.”

When you give God glory and let Him arise in your life, you can’t stay defeated. No foe can stand against you in the presence of Almighty God. Your enemies will be scattered! They will tremble at your words of faith! Let God arise and embrace the blessing and victory He has prepared for you!

Father, right now I release any negative, self-defeating thoughts or attitudes. Instead, I choose to let God arise in my life. I declare that You are worthy, You are holy, and You are the center of my joy, peace and strength in Jesus’ name. Amen.

I got up at 5:30am, took my morning meds and now I'm waiting for the medicine to kick in.  Laying in bed this morning, my right side was still very sore...
I feel wore out even after sleeping all night... :-(
I think it's probably best to split our travel between two days since I am the one driving.  So this evening we will start our trip back to Minnesota.

Walking in the Word
By Charles Stanley
Read | Psalm 119:97-104

People make a lot of decisions on any given day. Most choices present themselves quickly, leaving little time to weigh pros and cons. So we “go with our gut.” But believers who desire to walk wisely through the perils of this world require something more reliable than flesh-based instinct. We need godly knowledge and principles to guide us, which is why we must meditate on the Word.

I mention meditating on Scripture often in my writing and preaching—and for good reason. The Bible is the key to knowing God and following His will. Believers simply cannot neglect spending time poring over its words. If you want to be certain of the Lord’s perspective on an issue, you go to the source book to fill your mind with truth.

All of us have a sort of grid around our minds. It’s made up of the principles we were taught as children, the habits we’ve formed, and the information we accept as true. New knowledge coming our way passes through that grid and is either assimilated or rejected. Think about TV commercials—those persuasive ads full of beautiful people are designed to steal past your mind’s defenses. Well, the devil has the same goal of getting past your grid and gaining a mental and spiritual foothold.

Some of the darts that Satan aims at your mind seem harmless or even good—that’s why “going with your gut” is so dangerous. A mental grid layered with biblical truth is essential for Christians, because it identifies and rejects whatever is sinful, poorly timed, or simply not fit for God’s children.

Another Beautiful Day!
I had a better day yesterday...I kept my feet up all morning and part of the afternoon.  I had some swelling but nothing like on Friday.
Friday, we drove for around 5 hours in the car...

Saturday, everyone went to the parade and then we all went over to Annas, Lee's sister's house, and had supper.  At around 6:30/7pm we went back to the hotel and the rest of the gang headed over to the Polka Fest to enjoy the music.

Today, we are going over to Annas for brunch and then we are driving back to Oklahoma.
I need to see it sitting in the car for extended periods of time causes the major swelling.  I never had this amount of swelling before.  We drove from Minnesota on Thursday...the combination of that and driving to Texas the next day may be what caused it????

I've been sleeping really good at the hotel and I'm trying to limit my exposure to the light.  Everything else is going well... :-)

I am so thankful for all I can do...

Growing in Servanthood
By Charles F. Stanley

Kids love to show off their height. They eagerly anticipate being tall enough to do all the things their short stature currently prevents. Many parents record and celebrate their children’s growth. They follow the tradition of marking heights on a doorframe.

God the Father also measures His children’s growth. He delights in seeing us reach new levels of spiritual maturity so we can accept greater responsibility. Because a new believer is like a little child in faith, his or her kingdom tasks are, at first, light. God is beginning the transformation process that will grow a saved human being into the image of Christ.

The call to servanthood requires us to do as the Lord Jesus did: act humbly on behalf of our fellow man. When we successfully minister where we are called, new opportunities will open up and offer fresh challenges.

Every opportunity to bless others honors the Lord and increases a believer’s wisdom and stature before Him. Much of God’s work goes on where only He can see it. But our heavenly Father is always measuring His children for future service. He’s gauging how much closer we are to His goal for us and what new task will draw us even closer.

God calls each believer to a life of service, just as He called Paul, Peter and James. This should be an exciting prospect. But too many people get hung up believing they can’t be “as good” as the apostles of old or the preachers and missionaries of today. A popular idea in the church is that the Lord’s servants are only those doing full-time ministry. Everyone else is simply trying to live well. Nothing could be further from the truth. From God’s perspective, you and I are the same as Paul, Peter, and James: servants with important kingdom work to do.

Some kingdom jobs look more important than others. But that’s only because we evaluate them with human eyes. Every work that advances the Gospel or serves a need is valuable—from cleaning the church or preaching to evangelizing or recording a praise album.

Everyone can’t be on a foreign mission field. But we can all share the gospel with a neighbor. Some people can sing in the choir. Others can put a dollar in the hand of homeless man. God invites us to do His work in the world, whether the task is great or small. We accomplish it by serving our fellow man. Ask Him what He would have you do.

Whatever your calling, remember… spiritual growth impacts our fruitfulness. The longer we’ve been believers, the greater our service should be. That does not mean tasks will be highly visible. Satan tries to convince people that some jobs are trivial. But the moment a believer falls for that lie, growth is stunted. God will promote those who put forth the best effort, no matter what the task is.

Looking Forward to Another Great Day....

Stretch to a New Level - Joel & Victoria Osteen

Stretch to a New Level
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory...”
(2 Corinthians 3:18, NKJV)

Today, if you’re not seeing in your life what God promised in your spirit, then you aren’t finished yet! What you see is only temporary. It’s time to keep moving forward. Don’t put your stakes down; don’t settle here. If where you’re living doesn’t match what God put in your spirit, be grateful, keep a good attitude, but keep stretching to a new level. If the medical report doesn’t agree with what God says about you, don’t accept it as the way it’s always going to be. Your attitude should be, “This is just a season that I’m passing through. I’m coming into health, wholeness and victory.”

Maybe it’s even something good. God has blessed you: a family, a job, health. You’ve seen His favor, but you know there are greater levels in front of you. It’s easy to think, “I’m happy. I have no complaints. God has been good to me.” But, I’ve learned that good is the enemy of great. You may be doing good. You’re using your gifts, but deep down you know you have more in you. Don’t let good be an excuse to keep you from God’s best. Stir up your greatness and stretch into a new level!

Father, thank You for taking me from glory to glory. I trust that You are leading me on a journey of faith. I trust that You are bringing to pass every dream and every desire You’ve placed in my heart in Jesus’ name! Amen!

Why Does God Allow Evil?
By Charles Stanley
Read | Genesis 2:15-17

When Christians discuss how and when evil entered the world, they most often point to the serpent’s temptation of Eve. But in fact, we must go back a bit further to the moment when God planted the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. By offering Adam and Eve a choice between obedience and rebellion, the Lord allowed for evil to enter His perfect creation.

Now, you are probably asking the very question that plagues many believers as well as unbelievers: Why does a loving God allow evil? Some unsatisfactory answers have been given over the years—for example, that the Lord doesn't care or that He’s helpless to prevent evil. Such responses contradict what God says about Himself in Scripture (Rom. 5:8; Ps. 47:8). The truth is, our loving Father wields absolute authority over this world.

God had a reason for letting evil enter the world. The Tree of Knowledge was a testing ground. Adam and Eve had to choose between rebellion and love, evil and righteousness, disobedience and obedience. Because the Lord desired love from the human beings He created, He had to offer a choice. Genuine love is given freely. The alternatives were either to skip the whole creation process or to program mankind like robots to give Him glory and praise.

The Lord gives two assurances regarding evil. First, His purpose is not for us to sin (James 1:13). He desires that we live with righteous intent so that evil finds no room in our hearts. Second, when we are touched by evil, He will make the situation work for our good (Rom. 8:28).

Theirs Is the Kingdom

The Dominican Republic, like many Caribbean island nations, is known for resorts that cater to tourists. But outside the town of Puerto Plata’s manicured beaches and villas is another world—one you wouldn't see from the highway.

Behind the sugar cane fields are the trash heaps of the local landfill, and behind that are shantytowns filled with families—mostly refugees from Haiti—who methodically sort through the garbage, looking for anything recyclable or salvageable. And just past the dump, hidden away at the top of a small hill, is an old concrete compound where drug addicts are in rehab.

It’s right here, in the midst of poverty and struggle, that the light of God’s kingdom is growing stronger each day. Pain and darkness abound in the dump, but love and dignity also flourish in this impoverished community. Many have become believers, and pastors have risen up from their midst, sharing the gospel and discipling younger Christians.

And from the rehab center on the hill, a steady stream of fervent prayer flows—not just for these warriors’ own freedom, but also for their nation and the rest of the world. Led by an ex-addict turned pastor and other men he’s mentored, these brothers are inviting God’s kingdom to come on earth, “as it is in heaven.”

When an intern from In Touch Ministries visited this community on a mission trip, he took Spanish-language Messengers with him. And in giving away these precious discipleship tools to believers with few earthly possessions, he gained a new understanding of true wealth.

Another Beautiful Morning!
I had a pretty rough day, yesterday.  My eyes bothered me most of the trip, 8 hours.  Whether this is caused from the uv exposure or the medicine...I'm not sure.  My eyes were still pretty bloodshot before going to bed last night.  They are bloodshot again this morning and discharging. :-(
I was extremely swollen and sore last night.

We made it to Oklahoma at around 4pm yesterday.  We went out to eat at our favorite mexican restaurant last night and as usual I had too much to eat. :-(

Today is Nolans last day of school.  They are having a picnic at the park.  I'm not sure if I should go sit in the park for 2 to 3 hours.  Today, we start the second part of our journey, we are driving to Texas for a polka fest.  It's like our communities corn on the cob day fest.  At these times in my life I wish I was normal.  :-)

I am so thankful for all I can do...

Practical Ways to Bear Burdens
By Charles Stanley
Read | 1 Thessalonians 5:14

There are hurting people everywhere, but at times we just don't know what to say or do to ease their pain. Here are six practical ways to bear someone else's burdens:

1) Be there. At times the best "method" of helping is simply to be present. During our darkest hours, we don't need someone who tries in vain to fix everything; we just need a friend.

2) Listen. Don't attempt to give answers or tell people what to do next. Injured souls frequently want only a listening ear so they can express what's on their mind.

3) Share. Never parade yourself as someone who seemingly has all the answers. Instead, allow your own pain and failures to help others.

4) Pray. There is power in speaking people's names before the Lord. When others hear someone talk to Jesus on their behalf, healing often starts to take place.

5) Give. Sometimes helping others involves more than a handshake or warm hug. Maybe they need something financial or material. One of the best measures of sincerity is how much we're willing to give to others.

6) Substitute. You may know an individual who bears the burden of caring for someone else. If you step in and take his or her place for a while, you are emulating your Savior—He, too, was a substitute.

Because we were unable to do it ourselves, Jesus bore all of our sin and sorrow, even unto death. As a result, we can live happily and eternally in communion with our Father. If Christ did that for us, how can we ever say, "I'm too busy to bear someone else's burden"?

Don't Settle For Good Enough - Joel & Victoria Osteen

Don’t Settle For Good Enough
“The LORD had said to Abram, ‘Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.’ ”
(Genesis 12:1, NIV)

In the Scripture, Abraham is listed as one of the heroes of faith. God made one of the first covenants with him. But what’s interesting is that before Abraham, God spoke to Abraham’s father and told him to go where he told Abraham. It says in Genesis 11 that Abraham’s father “left Ur and headed out toward Canaan.” He was going to the Promised Land just like God told Abraham. But it says, “He stopped along the way and settled in Haran.” Why did he stop? There were too many difficulties. It was hard traveling with all of his flocks and herds. He had his family, his possessions. It wasn’t comfortable. He finally decided, “I can’t go any further. I know this isn’t the Promised Land, but it’s good enough.”

How many times do we do the same thing? We start off right. We’ve got a big dream. We’re going to fulfill our destiny. But along the way, we face opposition. Adversity arises. Too many times, we say like Abraham’s father, “What’s the use? I’m just going to settle here. It’s good enough.” No, I want to light a new fire in you. Decide today: “I’m not going to settle halfway, three-fourths of the way, or nine-tenths of the way. I’m going to make it all the way in to my promised land.”

Father, today I declare that I won’t settle for good enough. I won’t settle halfway to Your promises. I choose to stand strong, dig my heels in, and press forward into the Promised Land you have prepared for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Another Beautiful Morning!
Yesterday, I made it to my doctor appointment on time.  I had to apologize to Dr Danning because I never arrive late or miss my appointment.  Like I did with my last appointment.
Dr Danning thinks the flaires (swelling, pain and weekness) are symptoms of the prednisone so I start the tapper slowly, 1m at a time every two weeks, to see if it will decrease.
If this doesn't work then we take another avenue.

After my Dr appointment we stopped in Winona to pick up my meds.  Dr Danning told me there was a generic pain patch out so she wrote out a new prescription for those.  The name brand patches cost me 500.00 for 30 and these new generic patches costs 250.00 for 30.  So I picked up 30 to see if these would help with the pain and then I can get off some of the pain medication.  :-).  I'm one that never took any medication or vitamins if I didn't need to.  I hate having to take all these meds just to get by day to day.

This morning I woke up with swelling, shoting pain, bloodshot and blurry eyes and discharge from my eyes...I'm sure the swelling is causing my eye issues.  :-(  I took my morning meds and I'm waiting for them to kick in.  They usually help with my symptoms.

Today, we continue our journey to Oklahoma to see the Kids and Grandkids...last night we stayed in Des Moines.  I got up at 5:30 thus morning but Paul and Jason are still sleeping at 6:30. I made a cup of coffee in our room.   It's a one cup at a time coffee maker.  :-).

I am so thankful for all I can do....

Becoming a Burden Bearer
By Charles Stanley
Read | Romans 15:1-2

The Bible instructs Christians to bear one another's burdens. Doing this effectively requires three things.

• Awareness. If you're not sensitive to the struggles of those around you, how can you help them? Every Sunday you sit in church, surrounded by people who hurt intensely. The Lord knows the depth of their suffering and desires to release them from bondage, but He often works through His children. Thankfully, we have His Spirit to sensitize us to needs in our midst.

• Acceptance. We are not to bear burdens on the basis of how we feel about the other person. Jesus doesn't discriminate about whom to love or help. If we want to be like Christ, we must be willing to share in the pain of others, no matter who they are. Does this describe you? Or do you limit your support to family and friends?

• Availability. Christians sometimes relegate the work of caring for others to their pastor, figuring, That's his job, after all. Yet he, too, has burdens. Your pastor wants to help everybody in all possible ways, but if he's the only one available to offer support for the congregation, both he and the church will crumble. A faith community thrives when people bear each other's burdens. Ask yourself if there's a way you can help carry the load.

Scripture tells us the whole law is fulfilled in one commandment: "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Gal. 5:14). Next to loving the Lord with all your heart, this is the second greatest command (Matt. 22:39). Therefore, when we share another person's heartache and burdens, we fulfill a great law of God.

Another Beautiful Morning!
I had another good day at work yesterday...so thankful it is going really good...

Today, I have an appointment with Dr Danning, my rheumatologist.  I hope everything goes well and I make it on time.  Last time I miscalculated the time it took from Rochester to LaCrosse.  I had to reschedule.
I'm not sure if Dr Danning will up my medication or just tell me she thinks the IV Infusions would be our next best step.
I'm alittle nervous about going to that next step, using the IV Infusion.
If I did take the infusions, I would hopefully be able to stop taking most my other medicine.  That would be great. :-). I know with everything there are pros and cons.
Please continue to pray for the next best step for my situation.

I am so thankful for all I can do...

The Dangers of False Teaching
By Charles Stanley
Read | Galatians 1:6-9

The Word of God is truth that’s living and able to penetrate human souls (Heb. 4:12). Consider how powerful Scripture is: It can change hearts, save lives from eternal condemnation, and give hope to the hopeless.

Is it any wonder, then, that the Bible is a battlefield of Satan? The devil will do his best to destroy its message and twist its truth. In fact, this has been our enemy’s continuous goal since he chose to turn from God.

Our heavenly Father has graciously let us know in advance the outcome of this ongoing battle: Truth will prevail. But while the Lord has the ultimate victory, Satan can gain ground among individuals. His tactics are dangerous and deceptive to the unsuspecting. For this reason, we should carefully guard against his attacks, which are hard to recognize unless we are prepared.

False teaching is one of Satan’s preferred tactics for leading us astray. At first glance, such instruction often seems to align with Scripture, but do not be misled by the deception. Two things are essential for standing firm against these slippery falsehoods: to be well grounded in the truth of God’s Word and to listen to His Spirit. Only then can we recognize the error and avoid the pitfalls of the enemy’s lies.

Satan longs to mislead believers so they’ll be ineffective for the kingdom. He also wants to keep all unsaved souls far from salvation in Jesus Christ. Friends, prepare for battle. Grow in the knowledge of truth, and lean on God’s Spirit to guide you moment by moment.

Looking forward to another great day...

Press Past the Mountain - Joel & Victoria Osteen

Press Past the Mountain
“The LORD our God said to us at Horeb, ‘You have stayed long enough at this mountain.’ ”
(Deuteronomy 1:6, NIV)

Have you been facing a mountain for so long that you feel like you are just sort of stuck there? Maybe at one time you knew you would break that addiction. You knew you would beat that sickness. You knew you would get married. But, you’ve gone through disappointments. It didn’t happen the way you thought.

Today, God is saying to you what He said to the people of Israel. “You have dwelt long enough on this mountain.” It’s time to move forward. God has new levels in front of you, new opportunities, new relationships, promotions, breakthroughs. But, you’ve got to stir up your fire. You’ve got to get a vision for victory. The dreams, the promises that you’ve pushed down and thought, “Oh, it’s not going to happen. I’m too old. I don’t have the connections. I don’t know the right people,” God has it all figured out. If you will start believing again, start dreaming again, start pursuing what God put in your heart, God will make a way where you don’t see a way. Press past the mountain and move forward into victory!

Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy on my life. Thank You for empowering me to overcome every obstacle and press past every mountain. I look to You to lead and guide me into victory in every area of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen!

A Godly Response to Criticism
By Charles Stanley
Read | Proverbs 15:31-33

No one likes criticism, but encountering some is inevitable, so we need to learn how to respond in a godly way. Although you might be tempted to become defensive or angry, remain calm and listen. The words may hurt, but great benefits come to those who carefully consider what is said.

If we refuse to accept reproof, we’ll limit our potential for godly character development and spiritual growth. Some of life’s best lessons come through difficult experiences. If the Lord allowed the situation, you can be sure He wants to use it in transforming you into His Son’s image. Whether the criticism is valid or not, whether it’s delivered with kindness or harshness, your goal should always be to respond in a way that glorifies the Lord. Remember that you are responsible only for how you handle yourself, not for how the other person is acting.

When a criticism comes your way, be quiet and listen until the other person has finished. Make direct eye contact to show attentiveness and respect. When your critic finishes, thank him for bringing his concerns to your attention, and tell him that you will consider what he’s said. Ask the Lord if the accusation is valid. Let Him search your heart and either affirm your innocence or convict you.

Every rebuke is an opportunity from God. It’s a chance to let your Christian character shine by showing love to your critic. If he is angrily attacking you, your respect and kindness become a powerful testimony. Criticism is also an occasion to humble yourself and accept the Lord’s correction.

Don't Settle for Good Enough - Joel & Victoria Osteen

Don’t Settle for Good Enough
“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you...”
(2 Timothy 1:6, NIV)

Too many people today have settled for “good enough.” They’ve lost their passion and just sort of go through the motions of everyday life. At one time, they had a big dream. They were excited about the future, but they hit some bumps along the way. Something didn’t happen on their timetable. Now they’ve gotten discouraged, thinking that it’s never going to happen. They accept it as their lot in life.

Don’t let that be you! Just because you haven’t seen what God promised come to pass doesn’t mean that it’s not going to happen. Don’t make the mistake of settling for good enough! Good enough is not your destiny. You are a child of the Most High God. You have seeds of greatness on the inside. You were created to excel, to live an abundant life! It’s not over until God says it’s over. Start believing again. Start dreaming again. Start pursuing what God put in your heart. Stir up the fire within you and don’t settle for good enough!

Father, today I declare that I will not settle for good enough. I will stir up the dreams, passion and flame within me. Lead me in Your path of truth as I press on toward the promises You have in store for me in Jesus’ name! Amen.

How to Handle Praise
By Charles Stanley
Read | Proverbs 27:20-21

How do you respond when someone compliments you? Some people absolutely love receiving praise because it lifts their spirit and makes them feel valuable. Others are uncomfortable with it. They look down at their feet or offer reasons why they really don’t deserve such praise.

For Christians, there is an additional dilemma. We’re called to be humble, so what are we to do when others say good things about us? Because pride is always waiting to raise its ugly head, we need to be careful not to let praise puff us up. Some believers think that accepting a compliment is a sign of pride, so they make a big show of giving all the glory to God. That’s fine, if it is really what’s in their hearts, but too often this becomes a rote “Christian” response that’s geared to impressing others.

My advice is simply to say, “Thank you very much.” Then whisper a prayer in your heart to the Lord, thanking Him for the blessing, recognizing that anything worthy of praise ultimately comes from Him. If you felt encouraged, let the person know how the comment blessed you. If you receive praise for an achievement that was really a group effort, be sure to redirect the compliment to all those who were involved. A blessing is always more enjoyable when it’s shared.

Our character is tested by the praise that comes to us. Every compliment that reaches our ears should quickly rebound to the Father. If we hold onto it, the poison of pride will begin to infect our hearts. But if we pass the praise to God, humility takes up residence in our souls.

Looking forward to another great day!

Another Beautiful Morning!
On my way to Laura's on Friday I was listening to a speaker talk about laughing and finding joy in everyday life.  We get so worked up and stressed in situation that we have no control over.  We have something we can be thankful for everyday so instead of holding on to trying to manipulate things our way, let go and find joy in your day and things you can do...
Laughter is great medicine... :-)

I had a great day with friends from elementary school yesterday.  We were laughing so hard we were crying all evening and boy did I need it.  We stayed at Jacque's new home in Ankeny, IA. last night.  We went through our yearbooks wondering where some people were.  We had pictures taken by one of my friend's daughter, she's a professional photographer.  I think we finally went to bed at midnight.
Now that's late for me...
By the end of the night I was sore and swollen but I was enjoying the company and the laugher.
Sometimes life can pull us in ways that are stressful and make us feel out of control.  I have noticed I need to lighten up and accept where I am.  Enjoy life...I miss the fun side of me...

I am so thankful for family and friends...

Giving Away the Faith
By Charles F. Stanley

Do you share your faith effectively and frequently? Think about that question for a minute. Does it prompt you to feel guilty, inadequate, or anxious? Many believers feel like failures when it comes to witnessing, despite all the emphasis the evangelical church places on this important subject.

Sometimes, we aren’t ready to share because we feel unequipped. The apostle Peter wrote that Christians should always be “ready to make a defense to everyone who asks [them] to give an account for the hope that is in [them]” (1 Peter 3:15). The more prepared we are to present the evidence of God’s truth, the better God is able to change lives. If you feel unprepared to share what you believe, consider joining a class or reading a book on personal evangelism. Talking about faith is something anyone can learn to do.

Another obstacle to personal evangelism is the time it takes for God to move an unbeliever to saving faith. When I was younger, I wanted to plant the seed of belief, water, fertilize, cultivate, and harvest it all at once! I became frustrated when people didn’t receive Christ the first time they heard the gospel.

Now I understand that it’s “God who causes the growth” (1 Cor. 3:6). My part is to faithfully sow His Word and look for those who are ripe for harvest. In our day of instant results, it’s hard for us to be patient and trust the Lord to work in people’s hearts.

Remember, evangelism is a process. You may be doing a better job than you think. God works through your personality and faithfulness to His principles to draw someone into His Kingdom. It may be in the form of helping a neighbor with yard work, or taking food to a friend after the birth of a child.

Your efforts to reach your neighbors and friends will be fruitless, however, unless you have surrendered to the lordship of Christ. When Jesus is set apart as Lord, He will make your life so appealing to unbelievers that they will ask about the peace and contentment they observe (1 Peter 3:15).

Since evangelism is a process, we shouldn’t feel guilty if we don’t verbally witness to everyone we meet. But at the same time, we are responsible for building bridges to faith for the lost. When the time comes, we are to share verbally what Christ has done in our lives and what He is willing to do in theirs.

The attitude with which we communicate is as important as the words we say. The apostle Peter encouraged the early church to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ with “gentleness and respect”—in other words, with a sensitive and tactful spirit (1 Peter 3:15). The cross is offensive enough without a self-righteous attitude or condemning spirit getting in the way (Gal. 5:11).

As you explain God’s wonderful gift, remember that the process of evangelism may last months or years. The wonderful experience of sharing the message of Jesus with complete strangers and seeing them convert is the exception, not the rule. And even in these rare cases, someone else probably planted the seed.

Because most people don’t come to faith the first time they hear the gospel, you should be prepared for some to reject the message. It’s not unusual to have bad experiences with personal evangelism. Unfortunately, some encounters can be so traumatic and discouraging that you feel like giving up. People are easily offended, or they may feel threatened. Unbelievers may accuse you of being intolerant or “holier than thou.” Or, you may lead someone in a prayer for salvation and then see no real change in his or her life.

There is a price to be paid for being a part of another’s salvation. Some pain and frustration will be involved. But the struggle and disappointments are quickly forgotten when we see those we love birthed into God’s family. There is a joy that can’t be explained.

So, don’t give up on evangelism—that would mean giving up on God. After all, He is the One responsible to save and change lives. He simply wants us to be a part of the process.

Looking forward to another great day...

The Shield of Faith
Charles Stanley
Read | Ephesians 6:14-17

The apostle Paul wrote about spiritual warfare so we might know our enemy and how to fight him. He compared the armor and weapons God has given us to the outfitting of a soldier: a helmet to protect our minds, a breastplate to cover our hearts, special shoes to help us stand firm, a belt of God’s truth to encircle us, the mighty sword of the Spirit, and the protective shield of faith.

Roman soldiers carried large rectangular shields, which covered the entire body. When facing an attack of flaming arrows, the warriors would stand shoulder to shoulder, with neighboring shields touching. Then, as the enemy’s arrows flew toward them, they would kneel in unison with their shields held above them, still in contact with the ones on either side. Nothing could pierce that defense.

This is a picture of how we are to fight when Satan sends flaming darts our way. They enter our life in the form of temptations, doubts, or anxieties—the devil’s combatants shoot these silently and swiftly towards us in the hopes of finding a vulnerable spot. When we maintain our shield of faith in an upright position, the attack fails. However, if we should lower it or fail to stand together as the body of Christ, the missiles penetrate.

Our heavenly Father has provided all we need for life on a battlefield. He has secured the victory through Jesus Christ, canceled sin’s power over us, and given us armor to wear. Our part is to walk by faith, believing God moment by moment. Remember that your faith is your shield. Keep it in good order.

That You May Be Healed - Joel & Victoria Osteen

That You May Be Healed
“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”
(James 5:16, NLT)

Relationships are so important in the eyes of God. As His children, He desires that we live in unity and stay connected with one another. When we are transparent and pray for each other, something supernatural takes place. We open the door to God’s abundant blessing and healing in our lives. When we walk in love and unity, our prayers become more effective, and His power is released in and through us.

Living in peace and unity doesn’t mean you have to agree with everyone around you all the time. It means you look for common ground. It means you reach out to others; you pray for them and help meet their needs. When we put the needs of others first, God will make sure our own needs are abundantly supplied. Follow God’s commands and pray for one another so that you may be healed!

Father, thank You for revealing Your truth to my heart. I choose to obey Your Word. I choose to pray for others and live in peace and unity, knowing that it will open the door for Your healing in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Faith to Hold Out
By Charles Stanley
Read | Hebrews 12:3-11

Sometimes our life can seem like a long, dark tunnel. Perhaps we are unable to discover a solution for a problem, or we cannot find relief from pain. Regardless of the direction we turn, we can’t find hope for anything better than our present circumstances.

Thankfully, we serve a God who feels our pain and knows our limitations firsthand. Jesus Christ walked through the valley of the shadow of death and cried out, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Mark 15:34). This means that when our faith is stretched to the breaking point, our strength is exhausted, and our dreams are shattered like glass, Jesus understands. And He asks us to hold on, even when everything in us screams to give up.

Giving up means abandoning God’s help for our own strength. We try to manipulate a situation or simply avoid pain. In essence, we are choosing to believe that Satan in his worldly power is stronger than Christ within us—which is the exact opposite of what the Bible says is true (1 John 4:4). Of course, the devil is not more powerful, but we let him win a battle if we give up on the assurance that God will see us through difficulty. When we have that attitude, we miss the Father’s blessing and limit our usefulness in His kingdom.

Even when we cannot detect His presence, God is working every moment on our problem. But we must trust His perfect timing for revealing the answer. Your Father knows your hurt, and He will bring you through that dark tunnel. Do not give up before receiving His blessing.

Looking forward to another great day...

Say of the Lord - Joel & Victoria Osteen

Say of the Lord
“I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!”
(Psalm 91:2, AMP)

Your words have tremendous power. No matter what you may be facing today, the words of your mouth can help set the course for your victory or set the course for defeat. You decide by what you say. When you wake up with an attitude of faith and expectancy and declare God’s Word, you will be strengthened and empowered by His Spirit. But at the same time, if you go around talking about your problems or talking about defeat, it drains your faith and sets your focus in the wrong direction.

That’s why it’s so important today and every day to take inventory of what you are saying. When challenges and obstacles arise, declare that God is your refuge and strength. Declare His Word. Declare that He is for you. Keep the weeds out of your heart by letting go of bitterness and choosing to forgive. Stay in step with God with your words and actions and receive His strength and power to be all He’s called you to be.

Father, thank You for Your Word which is refreshing water to my soul. I choose today to say what You say. I choose to meditate on Your Word. Keep me close to You always in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Success Blockers
By Charles Stanley
Read | Hebrews 12:1-2

While everyone wants to feel like a success, many—if not most—people do not see themselves that way. You may find this surprising, but a lot of Christians don't consider themselves successful either.

One culprit is fear. We may think we lack ability or have insufficient experience to achieve a task God has given us. As a result, fear can become a dominant emotion. Instead of seeing ourselves as moving forward, we begin to visualize our failure. Might that be the case with you when you picture your future?

Another block to success is doubt. It makes us question our thinking, our God-given abilities, and even His direction. If we do not know what the Lord says in His Word, we may find it hard to understand what He is asking of us personally. Doubt can cause us to question whether or not the direction is from Him. Furthermore, past failures and guilt over prior mistakes can create doubt, just as critical comments from others can impede us. Has doubt slipped into your thinking?

Success can also be hindered by the excuses we offer for not doing what God has asked. Adam blamed Eve; Eve blamed the serpent. Moses said he was not good at public speaking. What excuses have you been offering lately?

There are ways to remove success blockers. Counter your fear with the truth of Scripture; remember you have received a spirit of power from the Lord (2 Tim. 1:7); and invest time in deepening your relationship with God so you will believe His instructions and obey.

Looking forward to another great day..

Don't Magnify Your Enemies - Joel & Victoria Osteen

Don’t Magnify Your Enemies
“...Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”
(1 Samuel 17:26, NIV)

Did you know that when David faced Goliath, he never called him a giant? Other people did, but not David. He didn’t brag on the enemy’s power. He didn’t magnify the obstacle. He did just the opposite. He called him an “uncircumcised Philistine.” Not only did he not acknowledge who Goliath was, or his strength, his power, his experience, he took it one step further and diminished him. When he said, “He’s an uncircumcised Philistine,” he was saying, “This man is not in covenant with my God. He’s not in covenant with Jehovah.” In other words, “He doesn’t have the favor on his life that’s on my life. I know the favor of my God keeps my enemies from being able to defeat me.”

So when he went to face Goliath he said, “This day, I will defeat you and feed your head to the birds of the air.” How could David, a teenager practically half his size with no military experience, go out with such confidence and face Goliath, a skilled warrior wearing a full set of armor? It’s because he understood this principle. David is the one that said, “The favor of God keeps my enemies from defeating me.”

Father, thank You for empowering me to overcome every enemy. I choose to magnify You over every obstacle I face. Thank You for paving the way to victory in every area of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Another Beautiful Day!
I was up by 3:30 this morning...
We turned the heat up yesterday and before bed we forgot to turn it down...our bedroom gets really warm.  I was stuffed up and hurting so I got up for my day...

Today, I am running into town to pickup Kaylee and Gracie and bring them out to the farm and then run a couple of errands
Also, there was a change in our plans...the modular home was supposed to be dropped off on Monday but was rescheduled for today instead.

My Dr appointment was scheduled  for next Wednesday instead of today, like I thought :-(

This weekend I am running to Des Moines for a graduation party and to meet up with friends.
On Wednesday, May 21st we are heading down to Oklahoma to visit with the kids and grandkids.
The next few weeks are going to be busy ones... :-)

I am so thankful for all I can do...

Success and Money
By Charles Stanley
Read | Luke 12:13-21

There is a prevailing deception today, one so powerful it makes people risk their families, their health, and their integrity. The deception is that success is defined by our material wealth. Many of us decide we are a failure without it. And with it, we somehow believe we are automatically successful. To uncover the truth, we need only ask ourselves, What is the Lord's view of us?

God sees that some of us have an idolatrous attitude toward riches. Life revolves around the topic of money—getting it, keeping it, having enough of it, and bemoaning our lack of it. A godly view of wealth sees money as a medium of exchange given by God so we may provide for others and meet our basic needs. Riches are not to be worshiped; only God is.

The Lord warns us about our attitude toward treasure (Matt. 6:24). The pursuit of wealth can set us adrift from Him or choke off the power of Scripture in our lives. It can even enslave us as we try to gain financial security. The Lord states that He—and not the pursuit of riches—is to be the center of our lives; our security is to be found in Him alone. We are urged to take steps to protect ourselves against the temptations that come with desiring or having treasure.

None of us are immune from the lure to pursue wealth or the temptation to define ourselves as successful when we have it. Pray that God will reveal your attitude toward money and success. Then confess any ungodliness. He can use our money for the good of His kingdom if we surrender all we have to Him.

Looking forward to another great day...

Brag on God's Goodness - Joel & Victoria Osteen

Brag on God’s Goodness
“Then I told them about how the gracious hand of God had been on me...”
(Nehemiah 2:18, NLT)

In scripture, Nehemiah had a dream to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. He didn’t have the money, the supplies or the manpower. What he had was incredible opposition. The city leaders were not for him. The critics tried to talk him out of it. He could have gotten discouraged and thought, “These obstacles are too big. I’ll never overcome these enemies.” No, right in the middle of that difficulty he said, “I can do this because the gracious hand of God is on my life.” He was saying, “The favor of God is making a way.” Again and again, he made this same statement, “The gracious hand of God will help me overcome.” He was constantly bragging on God’s goodness. In the end, he not only rebuilt the wall, but he did it in record time. It should have taken a year or two, but he did it in just 52 days.

When you’re always talking about God’s goodness, that’s when you’ll see His favor, His goodness, His protection in new ways. You may be in a tough time, but don’t magnify your problem. Magnify your God. The bigger you make God, the smaller your problems will become. Brag on God’s goodness and move forward in His victory!

Father, thank You for Your gracious hand of favor on my life. I choose to believe that with You, all things are possible. I know that You are making a way where there seems to be no way. So I will brag on Your goodness all the days of my life in Jesus’ name! Amen.

Another Beautiful Morning!
I woke up with a headache this morning so I was out of bed by 5am.
Birds were chirping outside our bedroom window. I Started my coffee and took my meds.  Now just waiting for the medication to kick in, working on my blog and my morning Bible Study...

I had a good day yesterday...I felt like I accomplished a lot...
I started the physical therapy...I worked out for a 1/2 hour/45 minutes.  I am amazed with the machines they have.  I check in on the computer and insert a card to register.  It then pull information from the computer, what I should be doing.  I insert the card in each exercise machine and it records what I do.  When I have completed all the machines I go back to the computer to input all my information back into the computer.  Amazing technology :-)

Today I run back over to TMLC in Rochester for another 6 hours and then back home to rest... :-)

This morning I have tingling and swelling in my feet.  Usually the morning meds helps me with my symptoms.  I have my Dr appointment and yoga tomorrow...

I will wait to see how everything turns out with my Dr... :-). Wish me luck...

I am so thankful for all I can do...

Momentary Pleasure
By Charles Stanley
Read | Hebrews 13:5-6

There are all sorts of ads on television and radio. Frequently when it gets down to the fine print, the announcer speaks so fast that you can't keep up with him. Why does he speak quickly? Because he's reading the part the company would rather you didn't hear. The message they want you to absorb is, Buy it now.

Satan makes a similar presentation: Don't worry about the future; you can have immediate fulfillment now! The strength of his temptations is that worldly things are available immediately. You can have them—for a price—and they will provide temporary gratification.

The enemy doesn't bring up tomorrow. Because he wants us to forfeit our future, he invites us to demand instant fulfillment of our desires. But there's nothing you or I "must have" now that's worth stepping out of God's will or losing the privileges and opportunities He has prepared for us. The Lord has a plan for our lives, and there is absolutely nothing that can compare with His will, His purpose, and His goals.

Our relationship with God is the most important aspect of our existence. No experience at any time in our lives compares in the slightest with knowing Him. Yet every day, because we think we "must have it now" we're tempted to choose what Satan has to offer.

We sacrifice our future when we make irrevocable decisions during times of emotional weakness. Jesus Christ can help us face any temptation or trial Satan can throw our way. The Lord is there for us, and He will never leave us or forsake us.

Looking forward to another great day....

You Cannot Be Defeated - Joel & Victoria Osteen

You Cannot Be Defeated
“By this I know that you delight in me: my enemy will not shout in triumph over me.”
(Psalm 41:11, ESV)

We all face situations where the odds are against us. We don’t see how we could get well, how a relationship could be restored, how we could ever break an addiction. In the natural, it all seems impossible. It’s easy to just accept it and think, “This is my lot in life.” But David said in Psalm 41, “The favor of God keeps my enemies from defeating me.” When you walk in God’s favor, honoring Him with your life, knowing who you are and whose you are, you cannot be defeated.

You may suffer a temporary setback, a disappointment or an unfair situation; but if you’ll keep moving forward, it won’t be permanent. What you’re facing may seem bigger, stronger and more powerful, but deep down, don’t be intimidated. One touch of God’s favor can turn any situation around. You’ve got to know you cannot be defeated when God Almighty pours out His favor on your life!

Father, thank You for Your hand of favor on my life. I choose to keep an attitude of faith and expectancy knowing that my enemies cannot defeat me in Jesus’ name! Amen.

Another Beautiful Morning!
I was listening to a christian speaker yesterday and she was talking about being patient and persevering.  She was also talking about how God hears my prayers.  He heard my first cry for healing and good health and is working on it.  I trust God to work all things together for good.  He loves me and wants me to have a healthy and abundants in my life... :-).

I had a Happy Mother's Day :-). We went to Erik and Christine's for steaks.  Afterwards we ran down to Winona to pick up medication.

I had a rough time again last night getting around, I was swollen and had shooting pains in my right leg.  Very Painful.

This morning I continue to have swelling and pain.  I am waiting for my morning meds to kick in.  They usually take the edge off.
I go off to work at 8:30...

I am so thankful for all I can do...

The Challenge: Forgiving Ourselves
By Charles Stanley
Read | 1 John 3:20

Have you ever heard someone say, “I know God has forgiven me, but I’ll never be able to forgive myself”? While such self-condemnation can spring from several sources, it is, in any case, an enemy the Lord has already defeated. Romans 8:1 tells us, “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” This encouraging statement covers all condemnation, including self-recrimination. How, then, should we deal with those condemning voices?

First of all, we need to distinguish between remorse and guilt. We are right to feel sorrow and remorse for past deeds, but to carry guilt for them is not necessary. The Bible assures us that if we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive us (1 John 1:9). Any lingering feelings of guilt after this are enemies trying to rob us of our freedom in Christ.

Sometimes these feelings of guilt stem from the mistaken notion that we still must pay for our sins, so we unconsciously embrace perpetual remorse as a way to make restitution for past wrongs. Such a practice suggests the faulty idea that Jesus’ precious blood wasn’t sufficient to cover all of the sins from our past, present, and future. Once we finally realize that He has stamped “paid in full” on our account, then we must never dare to side with those who would have us believe otherwise.

Since our heavenly Father has given us His Word, we can reject all accusing voices and rest on His promise: “For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things” 1 John 3:20

Looking forward to another great day....
