Highs -n- Lows Living with the Disease

Another Beautiful Morning!                                                                          I slept really good on the couch again last night.  Connie came in at 5:00am to get something so I got up for my day.  Started the coffee, had a banana and took my meds...I usually start coughing when I wake...
Paul still wasn't doing well last night. Running a fever.  Hoping he feels better today...he seems to start feeling worse by mid-afternoon.  He's been struggling with it for awhile.
I've had it the longest...not sure where I got it but I given it to everyone.  Paul, Tim and Connie.  Tim just got it...Connie ran to the store in the middle of the night to pick up some meds for Tim.  They seemed to help him.  We are going to try it if Paul isn't feeling any better today.  Please pray for a quicker recovery for all of us...

Mom hasn't been hit with it yet...so glad...

I am so thankful for our Family and Friends...

The Season of Grace

“For the turning away of the simple will slay them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.”
(Proverbs 1:32, NKJV)

God will never ask you to do something without giving you the ability to do it. But when we’re passive or complacent and think, “Yes, I know I need to do that. Maybe next week,” well, next week turns into next month. Next month turns into next year. When we put off what God has told us to do, we miss that season of grace. But if you’ll deal with things as soon as God brings them to light, you’ll have a special grace, a special empowerment. You’ll feel God’s enabling power helping you to do it.

Today, is there something you’ve been putting off? Something you know in your heart that you are supposed to do? Don’t let the season of grace pass. Don’t let complacency destroy you. Your destiny stands before you. God has something amazing in your future. Be bold; be strong. Step out in faith, be obedient and walk in the abundant rain of His blessing!

Father, thank You for the grace to do exactly what You’ve called me to do. I choose to step out in faith; I choose to follow Your commands. I choose to be faithful because I know that You are faithful. I love You and bless You always in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Transforming How We Think
Read | Colossians 3:1-2

Yesterday we saw that Romans 12 urged us not to think like the world but to be transformed by renewing our minds. That may sound like a daunting task, but it is possible through Christ (Phil. 4:13). Here are some pointers for transforming the way you think:

• Acknowledge you have the capacity to think rightly (1 Cor. 2:16). If you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior, God’s Spirit lives inside you. Because He is holy and pure, His presence enables you to think holy, pure thoughts. And within you is the very same power that raised Christ from the dead (Eph. 1:19-20).

• Seek spiritual things (Col. 3:1-2). When a muscle is worked, it grows stronger. Similarly, reading the Scriptures provides sustenance to your mind, but if you then exercise it through study and meditation, your thinking will become more Christlike.

• Sift thoughts through the Word and will of God (2 Cor. 10:5). Too often, even Christians act impetuously without regard for God’s instruction or purposes. Avidly reading and obeying His Word and trusting the Holy Spirit’s guidance will help you avoid much heartache.

• Choose to refuse certain thoughts (Ps. 101:2-3). Harmful thoughts are among those things referred to as Satan’s “flaming arrows” (Eph. 6:16). We may not be responsible for such thoughts popping into our heads, but we are accountable for our response to them. If you find yourself pausing on or entertaining unhealthy ideas, ask God to redirect your thinking. Then thank Him because Jesus Christ purchased your forgiveness at Calvary.

Looking forward to another great day....
